Last night went pretty much as expected when The SEALS took care of the Wildcats of Mifflinburg by a score of 47-12 to move their record to 7-1 with 3 games remaining in the regular season. The Offense came out firing early, often and at will as they scored 35 seconds into the game and they kept it up through the entire first half with the half ending in a 47-6 score. Leiby had a Great night with 5 TD passes and 300+ yards passing. Our WR’s all had good nights too with Inch getting the “hat trick” with 3 TD’s and 150+ yards receiving along with Nylund, and Kahn catching a TD as well as Kahn running one in for good measure. The GRUNTS on the OL (Critter, Dreese, Zeiders, Schon, Bogar, Baney) had another solid night giving Leiby time to throw with the exception of a couple of communication issues when picking up the blitzes. Showers with another nifty punt return that he almost took to the house again. The Defense played Great yet again with the lone exception of giving up one long Cat drive late in the first qtr albeit penalty aided. I know our D played in the Cat backfield almost as much as their players did with Van Zijl, Sheesley, Critter, Dressler and Croman all having multiple tackles for losses as well as getting sacks or having a hand in on a sack!! Dressler also broke the career sack record that had stood for the last 42 years by none other then SEAL stand out Marlin VanHorn!! Swineford with a “pick 6” for good measure as it was his 4th INT in the last 4 games. Plenty of positives on both sides of the ball with a few things to clean up as the Boys still need to work on “dumb” penalties that can light you up in the “big” games along with working on picking up blitzes. Great Team Win Boys and next up the Wildcats of Central Mountain!! Great job again Critter on the OL protecting that “blind side,” with only one noticeable “whiff” on a blitz pickup, and on D you were in their backfield disrupting plays all night and even picked yourself up a sack!! Keep up the Good work, stay focused, and keep improving as still lots of football to be played!! You Always make Me Proud Son No Matter what and Luv Ya #52!!! GO SEALS!!!!!!
THE SEAL’S WRAP-UP REPORT
What a great game last night as The SEALS invaded the Dog Pound in Berwick last night and came out the winners 17 – 6 ! ! The game at the Half was Berwick leading 6-3 as both Teams Defenses were dominating. The 2nd half you could tell The SEALS came out focused and ready to play and take the game over. The SEALS came out and received the kick off to start the 2nd half and promptly marched the ball down the field and took the lead and the momentum which they never gave back!! That was all The SEALS D would need as they were fired up and physically took over the game. Kuddos to the whole D as the DL, LB’s and DB’s ALL played as a well-oiled unit and were all over the Dawgs backfield flying to the ball and disrupted almost every play before it ever had a chance to even develop!! AWESOME JOB D!!! It wasn’t exactly a stellar night of stats for the Offense but sometimes you have to win those low scoring smash mouth games as Berwick’s D didn’t play to shabby either so credit them too. Our “Grunts” or “Bigs” or whatever you want to call them did a great job the 2nd half especially late in the game pounding the ball right at them for 3, 4 and 5 yards a pop even when they knew it was coming at them. Leiby didn’t put up a bunch of big numbers this game but with a couple of very clutch throws and some nifty foot work on some runs he helped “SEAL” the “W” and that is the only stat that matters as I am sure he will be the first to tell you!! Way to show your Character SEALS and Way to bounce back Boys as an Impressive Overall TEAM PERFORMANCE ! ! Sure was a great game for the fans to watch.
Thanks again Howie Ritter for another great Seals Wrap-up Report.

HOT OFF THE PRESS
Not only is it that time of the week again…..Football Friday and time for FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS but an added Bonus this week as it is HOMECOMING!! I am not sure what time the festivities start tonight but they are usually before the game. I would plan on being there by 6:20 or so to be safe and come out and Cheer on and Support these Lovely Young Ladies and their Escorts. Special Shout Out to my niece as she will be one of the Senior Reps on the Court!! Way to Go and Congrats Alyssa!!! This week The Jersey Shore BullDogs come to The GROVE in what should be a great matchup of last years District Finalists. This game will also go a long way again this year to help determine not only who makes the District Playoffs but also the all important seeding for Home Field advantage!!! I don’t know about the rest of you but I know I sure hate that long drive up there lol. The SEALS are coming off a Gut-Check Win last week against Berwick. The Boys started off a bit slow last week but had a great 2nd half performance and Dominated!!! Lets hope The SEALS bring that same tenacity and enthusiasm this week again. The Big3 of Dressler, Baney n Critter better make sure they become best friends with and introduce themselves early and often to the Dawgs QB so he doesn’t have time to pass as they have a couple of tall WR’s that our DB’s Swineford, Showers and Ravy and Co. will have their hands full defending. Our LB’s of Sheesley, Kahn, Croman, Oyster and VanZijl better be ready to step up and “lay the lumber” on their RB as well as he is having a nice year so far!! This should be a good test of The SEALS D tonight. On Offense The SEALS havent exactly been “lighting up” the scoreboard since Cope was injured. The “GRUNTS” on the OL of Critter, Dreese, Zeiders, Schon and Baney have been playing solid the past two weeks but will be tested tonight as the Dawgs like to run a lot of 6 and 7 man blitzes and if Our “Big Uglies” can pick them up and give Leiby even a little time to look for WR’s Inch, Nylund or Showers and Co. then watch out!! The edge has to go to The SEALS but when these two teams meet anything can happen for sure!! Penalties and Mistakes will again be the key indicator so lets hope The SEALS have their Focus back, keep their heads in the game and don’t do anything “dumb” to help the Dawgs!!! Great game last week Critter, way to Unleash the Beast, and hope you have another one in you again this week. The Team is counting on you to Step Up and be a Leader and “take charge” out there. Also Counting on you to protect Leiby’s “Blindside” on the OL and I hope you have another couple of “meet n greets” again this week with the opposing QB!! Have Fun, Play Hard and Leave It ALL On the Field as I Know You ALWAYS Do!! No Matter What I am ALWAYS Proud of You Son!! Luv Ya #52!!
Hope to see You All tonight at the game!!
Thanks again Howie Ritter for another great Seals Report.
In 41 match-ups with Jersey Shore, Selinsgrove owns the all-time series 36-5.The series started with Selinsgrove winning two games in the early 60’s, but the teams did not play again until 1985.
2011 was the first time that the Bulldogs defeated the Seals since 1997.
Since 2012, Selinsgrove is 5-3 against Shore.
Seals and Bulldogs have appeared in the last 4 District 4 title games, with each team winning two. In 2013 and 2016, Selinsgrove won the regular season match-up, but lost in the title game to Shore. In 2014, the Seals lost in the regular season but would win the district 4 championship. In 2015 the Seals won both games on their way to a district title.
The Selinsgrove Seals Football Team needs to keep their Heads up and regroup as you played your hearts out and was a good game and no shame in losing to the Shikellamy Braves. The main thing was it looked like the Boys came out of the game Pretty Healthy and ready to play against the Berwick Bulldogs Friday, September 22nd @ the Crispin Field located @ 1199 North Mulberry Street Berwick, PA 18603.
Game starts @ 7:00 PM.
FANS, FAMILY, FRIENDS and our SELINSGROVE SEALS STUDENT BODY if you can make it, PLEASE come out and CHEER & SUPPORT these Fine Young Men.
See Ya There ! !
GO SEALS ! ! !
BEAT THE Bulldogs ! ! ! !

This was the last time on Saturday the 24th for these Football Players to play together at the 27th ANNUAL DISTRICT 4 NORTH – SOUTH All – Star Game at South Williamsport High School’s Rodney K. Morgan’s Stadium. A victory was not in the cards as the South came up short in a 37-29 loss to the NORTH. The Selinsgrove Football Booster Club would like to wishGOOD LUCK to these fine young men if it is off to a job or off to college this fall.
Today Saturday June 17, 2017 was the Football camp at State College. The 7×7 was hel a couple blocks away so didnt get to see too much of them play but they went 4-3 I think on the day as there were a Lot of very good teams there. They also had a Lineman Challenge held over at Holuba Hall which is the indoor/outdoor practice facility for The Lions!! They paired the teams up so that there were 13 players to a team and we got matched up with a great bunch of kids from a Catholic School from Levittown. I am not sure where they finished but they had a good day and enjoyed themselves.
Holuba Hall….what an Awesome facilty ! !
Farmers Carry…..relay race where you pick up the two weights and race out to a cone and around and back
25lb Sand Bag Toss….you had to shot put it with two hands out front…..you started at goal line and each teammate had to toss from last spot and then measured for overall length
Flat Footed Long Jump…..start at goal line and you start next jump from where last teammate landed and then measured for length after all went
Sled Race…..relay race where everyone pushes sled to a cone and back then next person goes
Sled Tug……split your team in half and there is a weighted sled in the middle and one person pulls sled across their line and then opposite person pulls sled back across their line and it is timed until everyone pulls
Figure 8 race……..everyone races around the figure 8 and total time for team
Tire Flip……start at goal line and you pair up and each pair has to flip it 3 times and next pair go and so on until you get it down 30 yards and back to goal line
……..part 2 of State College Camp. The one challenge the boys got to do in the Lions weight room. Pretty impressive facility. Probably the highlight was at the end when they were almost done and got to shake Coach Franklin’s hand. Of course leave it to Critter to ask him for a pic. He said ok but make it quick as he had to run. Adam said Coach Franklin was probably not too happy with him afterwards as after they got their pic taken then other teams wanted theirs as well. He might still be there getting pics as there were like 42 teams there haha. Overall pretty good day and weather held out. Look forward to two weeks the SEAL!S will be at Berwick for their next competition. GO SEALS!!!!
Holuba Hall….what an Awesome facilty!!!
Coach Franklin……GO LIONS!!!!! WE ARE…….. —
Sideways Sand Bag Toss
Towel Hanging……you had to grab the towels and pick your feet up off the platform and it was a cumulative team time from when you left the platform until you touched the floor.
Obstacle Course…..crawl through the hurdle….zig left around post….zag right around post and tip toe over cushions and around Dummy Bag and race back to start,
