Coaches Corner

Attention all Seals Football Players:  All "Lucky Seals Lotto" raffle ticket money is due this week.  Coach Hess is collecting ticket stubs and money in the weight room Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Coach Hicks will be collecting all money and ticket stubs from middle school players this week in school.  Stay tuned for more information, as we are planning a COMMUNITY BLITZ (ticket sale) this week!

Attention Seals Football Nation:   Nate Walter and Lorenz Scholl have been selected to the District 4 All-Star team.  They will be playing in the District 4 All-Star North vs. South Williamsport in June. We will follow with more details as they come.

Banquet Award Winners Announced    The Seals Nation Football Program held its' annual banquet on Sunday, January 29th, in the Selinsgrove High School Cafeteria.  An awards program followed in the high school auditorium.  Keynote speaker Bryan McBrian, Offensive Coordinator for the national division II football power Bloomsburg University, gave an empassioned speach about the life lessons the game of football teaches.  This was followed by Coach Hess and his assistant coaches giving awards to many of the Seals's standouts for the 2011 season.  The award winners are as follows: Player's Choice Awards: Most Valuable Defensive Player - (this was a three-way tie):  Tyler Krebs, Corey Lesher and Lorenz Scholl. Most Valuable Offensive Player: Offensive Tackle Jon Bixler Most Valuable Overall Player: Lorenz Scholl Coaches' Choice Awards: Team Player Award: Sophomore Outside Linebacker Ben Kahn The 180 Degree Award: Defensive Tackle Aaron Hensel The Tom Hoffman Award - (best blocker): Fullback and Linebacker Lorenz Scholl The Adam Ackley "Charlie Hustle" Award: Defensive Back Curtis Banasiak The John Daily "Man of Character" Award: Lorenz Scholl

The official KICKOFF of the 2012 football season will begin on January 4, 2012, as the Seals will participate in their first weight room testing of the new year! The Seals are preparing for their opening game against the Southern Columbia Tigers on Bolig Field, August 31st, 2012. The countdown begins! Attention players: The Christmas vacation lifting schedule will be as follows:   12/23  8:30AM-10:00AM 12/28  9:00AM-11:00AM 12/30  9:00AM-11:00AM

Attention SEALS NATION!    The official start date of the 2012 football season is Wednesday, December 1st, 2010!!  The sealsfootball.org COUNTDOWN will begin at midnight and continue until our first game against the Mt. Carmel Red Tornadoes on September 2nd in the Silver Bowl.  All of our student athletes (not involved in winter sports) will officially begin their off season preparations in the weight room on Wednesday, when they will test in the Bench Press, Squats and Hang Cleans.  Please check back with us at sealsfootball.org for postings of our IRON SEALS, as we will display a Top 10 list in each of our core lifts.  There are many other preparations going on as the Seals begin their trek toward what I feel will be one of the finest football seasons on record for the Seals Football Program.  Again, please keep posted, there are great things to come!!    Also, I'd like to thank all of you for providing our athletes with what is -undoubtedly- the best football community in the country!   Yours in Seals Football, -Coach Dave Hess
